London, Wednesday 25 March 2020 – The World Federation of Exchanges (“WFE”), the global industry group for exchanges and CCPs, has created a new page on its website to provide a single, reliable, comprehensive source of exchange and CCP efforts to keep open, and operate, resilient markets in the midst of the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

The webpage is designed to be part of the information-sharing that the market infrastructure industry always provides in times of crisis. The WFE is updating it with each new announcement from any of its members. The page will also include updates from exchanges and CCPs not inside the WFE membership base, as the WFE continues to coordinate measures around the world in an inclusive and holistic way at this time.

Nandini Sukumar, Chief Executive Officer, WFE said: “As we confront this crisis together, we remain connected as a community and industry by our sense of responsibility and purpose to keep public markets open and operating effectively. As an industry, we have proved resilient through multiple crises, supporting our stakeholders through times of volatility and uncertainty, and we are determined to overcome the challenges we face today. We are showing the world through action why market infrastructures are as vital and relevant today as they were 100 years ago.”

If you are an exchange or CCP, please keep the WFE informed about new initiatives and actions you are taking in regard to Covid-19, so the WFE can keep the website updated. You can do this by sending your updates to [email protected]

Please click here to access the WFE’s Covid-19 information page. You can also request email notifications, so you can be alerted when the page is updated.
