The World Federation of Exchanges, the global trade association of publicly regulated exchanges, today announced the appointment of Ms Nandini Sukumar to the position of Chief Administrative Officer.

Ms Sukumar joins the WFE from Bloomberg News bringing 14-years of experience as a financial journalist specialising in market structure, exchanges and regulation. At WFE she will, along with the CEO and management team, represent and promote the organisation and its member's values to key stakeholders and help the organisation run smoothly on a daily basis. She will report to Hüseyin Erkan, Chief Executive Officer of the WFE.

Mr Erkan said: ''I am delighted to welcome Nandini to the WFE. As we help educate stakeholders on the benefits of exchanges as efficient forums for liquidity, price discovery and capital raising, she will play a key role in promoting our message.''

Ms Sukumar joined Bloomberg News in 2000 and established their coverage of exchanges and of the U.K. financial services regulator. She covered the industry through the exchange IPOs starting in 2001 and during the 2004-2007 cycle of industry consolidation. Based in London, she set up Bloomberg's coverage of the U.K. securities watchdog and has covered stock and bond markets and the mutual fund industry for them.
