Understanding the Evolution of Passive Investing

Thu 09 May 14:30 - 15:30 PM BST

Moderator: Charlie Ryder, Manager, Regulatory Affairs, The World Federation of Exchanges

Presenter: Tim Edwards, Ph.D., Managing Director, Global Head of Index Investment Strategy, S&P Dow Jones Indices

Summary: Although they have been around for more than a century, the role of indices in finance has evolved considerably in recent years. Once just barometers of market health, today indices like the S&P 500® are at the nexus of trillions of dollars in daily trading across futures, options and ETFs, while index funds have come to play a fundamental role across the investing ecosystem. Join the head of S&P DJI’s thought leadership for a review of where we are, what comes next, and how the S&P DJI SPIVA® Scorecard can help investors understand how the role of indices is changing across benchmarking, investing and trading in markets around the world.

Format: There will be a 30 min conversation followed by an audience Q&A.

This is an open event. Feel free to share with colleagues inside your organisation who may be interested.
