Cyprus Stock Exchange introduced the operation of the Market Maker in its securities market

With the aim of achieving the necessary liquidity in the securities market and for offering to investors a wider range of products and services, the Cyprus Stock Exchange has recently introduced the operation of the Market Maker in its securities market.

In order to operate as a market maker, a member firm of the CSE should be licensed accordingly by the CSE. The market maker operation applies to all Markets of the CSE on a voluntary basis. Any listed company that is interested to adopt market making on their listed securities will be able to do so, by signing a contract with a Market Maker. A Market Maker will be able to conduct market making on any listed security, provided it is authorised to conduct transactions for its own account.

The CSE encourages listed companies with low liquidity to adopt the market making tool, in order to increase the marketability (velocity) of their listed securities, regardless of the market/ segment in which they are listed.
