The Argentine Capital Markets Demutualize

The BCBA and MERVAL join to create a New Market to be launched to public offering and listing

Late last year, Capital Markets Act Nr. 26,831 was approved to promote structural changes in the Argentine stock exchanges and securities markets.

To start adjusting to the new scenario, the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBA) and the Securities Market Corporation (MERVAL) have become partners to create Argentine Markets & Exchanges Corp. – B&MA, in its Spanish acronym. This new corporation will run a securities market organized pursuant to the rules and regulations in force, and whose stocks shall be publicly offered and listed on B&MA.

Along the same lines, Merval and BCBA have executed an MOU with the Cordoba Securities Market aiming to integrate and interconnect local trading platforms into a single federal market servicing all regions across the country.
