Welcome to the April edition of FOCUS.
The theme of this month's edition is SMEs. SMEs are an economic cornerstone, contributing significantly to the economy and also acting as the incubator for the large companies of tomorrow. In March, WFE released its research paper on SMEs, which can be downloaded from the WFE research section at http://www.world-exchanges.org/home/index.php/research/wfe-research. We complement this study with comments from some WFE members at the forefront of this area.
In this month's Interview section, Kesara Manchusree, President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand talks to WFE and discusses SET's role on the regional stage, its investor expansion plans, sustainability & education, and provides an overview of TFEX.
April's big event for WFE was the IOMA/WFE Clearing and Derivatives Conference in Kuala Lumpur, April 17 – 19. As noted in the CEO's comments, we will be reporting on this in more detail next month. Timed to coincide with the conference was the release of WFE's 2015 Derivatives IOMA Survey, which can be downloaded from the WFE website and which is also covered in the WFE Market Insight section. The Insight and Analysis from the IOMA Conference section, contributed by global regulatory analysis firm MLex, covers cyber guidelines and global leverage, topics which were both discussed at the conference.
And of course we have our new dashboard section, plus exchange headlines, a full range of vital market statistics and some useful dates for your diary.
