Deutsche Börse Group and Bank of China sign MoU

Deutsche Börse Group and Bank of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding a strategic cooperation. The two parties will enter into a preferred partnership to fully explore potential cooperation’s across the value chain in their respective geographies. As part of an on-going strategic dialogue, the intention of the parties is to provide high quality products and services in order to further develop cross border business between China and the European Union. As part of the initiatives, the two parties intend to jointly promote the development of the offshore Renminbi market in Europe combining each other’s strengths in all possible business areas.

African Securities Exchanges Association launches new website

The African Securities Exchanges Association has launched its new website, developed and designed in collaboration with I-Net, a financial data vendor specialized in the Southern African markets. It enables investors to perform complex analyses of company information.

Federation of Euro Asian Stock Exchanges holds annual meetings

The Federation of Euro Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) 19th Annual Meetings have been conducted in Muscat, Oman on 3-4 December 2013, hosted by the Muscat Securities Market. Members approved Iran Mercantile Exchange and Fara Bourse as new full members and African Securities Exchanges Association as bilateral member. The Federation is now composed of 53 members from 30 countries. Members discussed various industry topics including SMEs listings, investor complaints, market surveillance and brokerage industry. The Federation has also published first ever inter-regional guidelines for handling investor complaints upon the approval of the members. The Federation has launched its new user-friendly website and the market statistics database for the use of global and regional investors.

Federation of European Securities Exchanges appoints new Chairman

Christian Katz, member of the Group Executive Board of SIX and CEO of SIX Swiss Exchange, was elected as the new President of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges on 20 November 2013. The election was unanimously approved by the FESE General Assembly. The term of office is three years.

Singapore Exchange and China Futures Association to collaborate

The Singapore Exchange and the China Futures Association are cooperating in the development of derivatives markets in China and Singapore. Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 2 December 2013. This MoU will jointly explore areas of cooperation which include information sharing, training and regular meetings on developments in each other’s markets.
