Hong Kong Exchanges opens new data center
On 31 January 2013, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing opened its next generation data center in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, further strengthening the technological foundation of HKEx’s markets and marking a commitment to the development of Hong Kong as an international financial center. It consolidates the primary data centers for all HKEx’s markets and clearing house systems under one roof, as well as the majority of its IT development and support staff.
London Stock Exchange Group provides trading technology to Lima Stock Exchange
London Stock Exchange Group entered into a technology partnership with Bolsa de Valores de Lima. MillenniumIT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of London Stock Exchange Group, will provide state of the art trading and smart order routing technology to Peru’s bourse via its ultra-low latency, scalable trading platforms, Millennium Exchange and Millennium SOR.
NASDAQ OMX to power new East Africa Exchange
The NASDAQ OMX Group has been selected as the technology partner by the newly established exchange, East Africa Exchange. NASDAQ OMX will deliver its X-stream technology to power trading and clearing of the new exchange.
NASDAQ OMX NLX selects financial services company
NASDAQ OMX NLX, the new interest rate derivatives market, has selected Equinix, the global interconnection and data center company, to host the new market from Equinix’s London data center campus. NLX will offer short-term and long-term interest rate euro- and sterling-based listed derivative products, pending Financial Services Authority approval.
NASDAQ OMX’s Smarts system selected by EU institution
NASDAQ OMX has been selected to deliver its SMARTS Integrity market surveillance system to the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), a central EU institution in the creation of a Single Energy Market to monitor the European wholesale gas and electricity markets covering both spot trading and derivative markets across Europe.
