Bursa Malaysia launches Exchange Traded Bonds and Sukuk products

On 8 January 2013, Bursa Malaysia launched the Exchange Traded Bonds and Sukuk (ETBS), creating a new asset class on the Exchange. ETBS are listed fixed-income securities, also known as bonds or sukuk traded on the stock exchange. This investment offers pre-determined returns in the form of coupons which are paid out over regular intervals.

CME Group to launch Indian Rupee FX futures contracts

On 28 January 2013, CME Group will launch new foreign exchange futures contracts based on the Indian Rupee, expanding its currency product suite, subject to the rules and regulations of CME, pending regulatory approval.

Deutsche Börse licenses ShortDAX and LevDAX indices

Deutsche Börse announced that the ShortDAX x3 and LevDAX x3 indices have been licensed to London-based firm to serve as the basis for ETPs for the first time. They will be listed on the London Stock Exchange. The ShortDAX and LevDAX index series are designed for sophisticated market participants with diverse risk profiles who seek access to leveraged instruments in the DAX. In this case, the ShortDAX x3 and LevDAX x3 indices measure triple the performance of the DAX either directly or in an inverse way.

NASDAQ OMX Commodities upgrades trading system and extends products offering

During the weekend of 23-24 March 2013, NASDAQ OMX Commodities will upgrade its Genium INET system to a new version. Subsequently, subject to successful testing and regulatory approval, the following new instruments will be launched according to a detailed time plan: German power futures, European style options for German power forwards and futures contracts, extension of the German power forward curve, extension of the Nordic power forward curve, introduction of Swedish and Norwegian electricity certificates, and introduction of European Union Aviation Allowances (EUAA) futures.

Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange launches rapeseed futures and meal futures

On 28 December 2012, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange launched rapeseed futures and rapeseed meal futures.
