CME Group applies to create derivatives exchange in the UK

CME Group is in the process of applying to the UK’s Financial Services Authority to create a London-based derivatives exchange. Pending regulatory approval as a Recognized Investment Exchange, CME Europe will initially begin trading foreign exchange futures products with an expected launch mid-2013.

ICE acquires options technology provider

IntercontinentalExchange has acquired WhenTech, a market leading technology, software and information provider for option market participants. WhenTech’s solutions include options valuation, analytics and risk management platforms. WhenTech will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICE.

LCH.Clearnet acquires International Derivatives Clearing Group

LCH.Clearnet Group has acquired sole ownership of International Derivatives Clearing Group from the NASDAQ OMX Group and certain other investors. It will enable LCH.Clearnet to operate a US domiciled CCP and further enhance the range and choice of its clearing solutions.
