Borsa Italiana migrates its cash market to new LSE Group platform
Cash markets of Borsa Italiana, a London Stock Exchange Group’s subsidiary, have migrated to the ultra-low latency trading platform, Millennium Exchange, which offers new order types and broaden trading and investment opportunities to market operators. The move follows the successful migration of London Stock Exchange’s cash markets and Turquoise MTF platform to Millennium Exchange system.
Eurex to introduce new trading architecture
Eurex plans to introduce a completely new trading architecture and system completely developed internally toward year-end. The migration is scheduled to start in December 2012 with products transferred to the new system in four stages.
Hong Kong Exchange upgrades its trading platform
Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing will upgrade its derivatives trading system (HKATS) and clearing system (DCASS) to NASDAQ OMX’s Genium INET technology. In addition, HKEx has extended its support contract with NASDAQ OMX for a further five years. The platform upgrade is scheduled to be in effect by the fourth quarter of 2013. The upgraded platform will provide HKEx with integrated trading and clearing services on a wide range of derivatives.
Johannesburg Stock Exchange’s new equity trading platform goes live
On 2 July 2012, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange launched its new equity trading platform Millennium Exchange developed by technology solutions provider MillenniumIT. The same day was also marked by the moving of the platform from London, where the trading engine has been situated for ten years, to the JSE building in Johannesburg. These changes are aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies for market participants who are expected to benefit from executing transactions almost 400 times faster than the present trading solution.
Malta Stock Exchange uses Deutsche Börse Xetra system
On 9 July 2012, the Malta Stock Exchange migrated its electronic securities trading to Deutsche Börse’s Xetra trading system. Xetra trading participants can now use Deutsche Börse’s infrastructure to easily access the Maltese financial market.
Pakistan Mercantile Exchange signs agreement with for trading platform
The Pakistan Mercantile Exchange has recently signed an agreement with Catalyst IT Solutions to provide them with a technology platform whereby PMEX brokerage houses will be able to offer multi asset/multi exchange on-line trading platforms, mobile trading platforms and SMS alert services to their clients. Under this agreement, Catalyst IT Solutions has integrated “Kinetic”, its own front office trading software with the Electronic Trading System of PMEX in a manner that would enable PMEX brokers to use this software as well as offer it to their clients.
Stock Exchange of Thailand to launch new trading system
The Stock Exchange of Thailand and Cinnober have engaged into a major project concerning for the Thai exchange trading infrastructure. According to it, Cinnober will deliver several core systems to the exchange. The first phase of the project will lead to the replacement of the current trading, market data and surveillance systems within equities markets during the third quarter of 2012. In following stages, the project will also include the derivatives markets. Thanks to it, SET will be able to offer superior transaction speed to support high-frequency and algorithmic trading. Once fully completed, equities and derivatives trading will be effected on the same platform, based on Cinnober’s TRADExpress Trading System.
Vienna Stock Exchange unveils new trading system on CEGH Gas Exchange
Trading in gas spot market and futures contracts on the Vienna Stock Exchange’s CEGH Gas Exchange started on the new trading system Trayport ETS. The new system integrates the CEGH market into international markets.
