Baku Interbank Currency Exchange introduces new currency pair products
On 5 March 2012, the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange introduced new currency pairs traded on its trading system BEST: EUR/USD, EUR/USD. Besides it, changes are made to exchange commission fees on currency pairs.

Buenos Aires Stock Exchange lists new investment instrument
The Buenos Aires Stock Exchange will list Technological Innovation closed-end funds, developed by the Exchange and the Science and Technology Ministry of Argentina. They aim at facilitating the financing of high-degree scientific and technological innovation projects. The funds will participate in the corporate stock by subscribing new shares.

CBOE Holding lists Super Leaps options on C2 Options Exchange
CBOE Holdings launched SPX long term index option series, called Super LEAPS options, on its C2 Options Exchange (C2) on 1 March 2012. They feature longer dated expirations than standard LEAPS options. LEAPS options contracts, developed and introduced by CBOE, currently limit expirations to up to three years. The Super LEAPS modification will extend SPXpm expirations to as long as five years. SPXpm is C2’s all-electronic, p.m.-settled version of CBOE’s S&P 500 index options contract (SPX).

CBOE and CFE expand ETF-based volatility index products
The Chicago Board Options Exchange and CBOE Futures Exchange will each launch a new ETF-based volatility index product in the coming weeks, the CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility Index security futures.  Its calculation is derived from applying CBOE’s VIX methodology to the prices of CBOE listed options on the iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund.

CME Group and MGEX launch MGEX-CBOT wheat spread options 
CME Group and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) launched MGEX-CBOT wheat spread options to begin trading on 26 March 2012. These contracts are listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of CBOT. MGEX-CBOT Wheat Spread Options are unique hedging tools based on the price differentials between hard red spring wheat futures listed on and soft red winter wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

Eurex expands dividend derivatives segment
On 2 March 2012, Eurex expanded its dividend derivatives segment by launching a total of ten new dividend futures based on dividends from selected sector indices; out of the EURO STOXX sector and STOXX Europe 600 sector indices, the banking, insurance, oil & gas, telecommunications and utilities sectors are covered.

Eurex expands German equity option products suite
Eurex Exchange introduced new equity options on 17 German shares, 14 of them are based on shares which belong to the mid-cap index MDAX. In a further move, an additional 17 equity options based on individual shares in the TecDAX index have been introduced on 24 February 2012. This expansion will allow Eurex Exchange to offer equity options on all constituents of the German blue-chip indices DAX, MDAX and TecDAX for the first time.

Hong Kong Exchanges lists Thailand’s SET50 ETF and first ETF traded in RMB
On 16 February 2012, Hong Kong Exchanges listed XIE Shares Thailand (SET50) ETF. It is designed to track performance of the SET50 net total return index, a stock index calculated by the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Furthermore, the Exchange has listed the first ETF to be traded in RMB. The new product is the Hang Seng RMB Gold ETF.

ICE Futures Europe launches European Union Aviation Allowances
IntercontinentalExchange launched for trading the futures contract on European Union Aviation Allowances (EUAAs) futures contract. It is a deliverable contract where each clearing member with a position open at cessation of trading for a contract month is obliged to make or take delivery of aviation emissions allowances to or from a registry in accordance with the ICE Futures Europe regulations. The underlying product is the European Union aviation allowance, which is an allowance issued pursuant to a Directive of the European Parliament and the Council establishing a scheme for greenhouse gas emissions allowance trading.

International Securities Exchange to list options on ISE Max SPY index
The International Securities Exchange has filed for approval with the Securities and Exchange Commission to list options on the ISE Max SPY index, a new proprietary index that represents ten times the value of the SPDR S&P500 ETF Trust.

Irish Stock Exchange to list Global Depositary Notes
On 24 February 2012, the Irish Stock Exchange admitted the first ever Global Depositary Note (GDN) to a European exchange market. The GDN relates to an offering by Petroleos Mexicanos Certificados Bursatiles (Pemex), a Mexican state-owned petroleum company. The new security has been admitted to the ISE’s Global Exchange Market (GEM).

NYSE Liffe introduces derivatives on AMX index
NYSE Liffe has introduced futures and options on the AMX-Index, the index for medium sized Dutch companies.

NYSE Liffe US launches options on mini gold and mini silver futures contracts
NYSE Liffe US launched options on its mini-sized gold and mini-sized silver futures contracts. These new options contracts are designed to meet growing customer demand to trade and invest in the precious metals market.

Pakistan Mercantile Exchange starts trading sugar futures contracts
The Pakistan Mercantile Exchange has recently launched trading in the sugar futures contracts. This launch marks a big step forward in the domestic commodities portfolio of the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange.

Singapore Exchange to list futures on MSCI Indonesia index
The Singapore Exchange will add the MSCI Indonesia index futures to its suite of Asian equity index derivatives in the second quarter of this year. The new contract will measure the performance of the largest and most tradable stocks listed on the Indonesian equity market.
