Four ASEAN equities exchanges select provider for trading link

Four ASEAN member exchanges (Bursa Malaysia, Philippine Stock Exchange, Singapore Exchange and Stock Exchange of Thailand) have selected SunGard to be the technology provider for the ASEAN trading link. It will electronically interconnect participating ASEAN exchanges to facilitate cross-border order routing and trading, thus helping investors and members access ASEAN markets via a single connection. SunGard will supply the infrastructure for the network based on its Valdi trading solution suite.

Eurex launches new access point in Hong Kong

In June 2011, Eurex established its new access point in Hong Kong. It offers Eurex member firms direct, high-speed and cost-effective network access to Eurex’s trading platform. This will be the second Eurex access point in Asia.

NYSE Euronext provides wireless asset tracking solution

NYSE Euronext announced that the NYSE has selected AeroScout to provide wireless asset tracking of all handheld e-broker devices on its New York trading floors. The system will provide data and information about the location and status of the devices. This will enable the NYSE to more effectively monitor brokers’ compliance with exchange trading rules which require that NYSE and NYSE Amex brokers trade equities and options in separate trading environments, restricting the movement of brokers and the handheld devices they use, between trading floors. The AeroScout solution will help to identify any device that crosses between the different areas using automated alerts.

NYSE Technologies introduces capital markets community platform

NYSE Technologies launched the financial services industry’s first cloud platform, called the Capital Markets Community Platform. Designed to increase business agility, simplify market access and reduce trading friction by utilizing rapid on-demand computing resources, the platform was developed in partnership with cloud computing experts to address the unique performance and security requirements of financial services firms. It will offer a range of cloud-based services that enable customers to easily purchase the computing power required at a given time so they can focus on their core business strategy rather than complex IT infrastructure design and maintenance.

NYSE Technologies expands connectivity into China

NYSE Technologies announced that Shanghai Stock Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, will establish a connection to the NYSE Technologies Marketplace for FIX order routing services. This partnership is designed to further expand NYSE Technologies network reach in China and enable traders and investors to more easily trade cross-borders with unmatched speed and reliability.

Wiener Börse extends Xetra agreement with Deutsche Börse

Electronic securities trading at Wiener Börse will continue to use Deutsche Börse’s trading system Xetra until at least 2017 after Wiener Börse extended its Xetra agreement with Deutsche Börse which was due to expire at the end of 2012, by a further five years.
