Deutsche Börse introduces DAX risk control indices
Deutsche Börse has launched the DAX Risk Control indices which measure a hypothetical portfolio that adjusts the risk of the underlying DAX index. This portfolio includes an investment in the DAX index and the money market rate, as measured by the Euro overnight index average. The asset allocations of the new indices are shifted daily to maintain the desired risk levels.
IntercontinentalExchange extends exclusive license for Russell indexes
IntercontinentalExchange has extended the duration of its agreement to exclusively offer futures and options contracts based on industry leading US stock indexes including the Russell 2000 index and Russell 1000 index, as well as expanded the agreement to cover the exclusive listing of futures and options on Russell’s indexes. The agreement has been extended by three years and now runs through June 2017.
Shanghai Stock Exchange launches wealth mid-small index
On 6 April 2011, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, in cooperation with China Securities Index, released the SSE Wealth Mid-Small Index. It includes the 200 SSE-listed small- and mid-cap companies with the fastest wealth growth rate as its constituents. It takes the financial indicators measuring wealth growth as the basis for weight distribution.
Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange launches new indices and renames other ones
The Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange has recently launched several new indices: the TA-Technology, the TA-Oil & Gas, the TA-Com, and the TA-Insurance. In addition, it has also renamed some already existing indices such as the Tel-Div Index (formerly known as Tel Div-20 Index), and the TA BlueTech-50 Index (formerly known as Tel-Tech Index).
TMX Group launches S&P/TSX Venture 30 index
In order to provide Canadian investors with an innovative approach to tracking the performance of smaller-cap Canadian stocks trading on TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Group in cooperation with Standard & Poor’s, launched the S&P/TSX Venture 30 index. It measures the performance of 30 of the largest and most liquid securities included in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite index, a broad market indicator of Canadian micro-cap securities.
Warsaw Stock Exchange launches WIG Ukraine index
The Warsaw Stock Exchange will launch in April 2011 the WIG Ukraine Index. Five Ukrainian companies are already listed on the WSE main board. High interest in WSE-listed Ukrainian companies is evidenced not only by their successful IPOs, but their valuation and stock trading volume are also growing.
