Eurex launches equity options with weekly expirations
On 24 January 2011, Eurex will introduce equity options with weekly expiration dates. This is the first time that weekly options on individual stocks will be available on Eurex. The Eurex Weekly Equity Options will be listed as separate contracts and will initially comprise derivatives based on shares of Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom and Nokia. Weekly options have been available on indices (the EURO STOXX 50 and DAX) since April 2006.
Istanbul Stock Exchange and Athens Exchange trade new ETF based on GT-30 index
A new ETF based on the GT-30 index started trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The GT-30 index, whose return will be tracked by the new ETF, is comprised of 30 largest stocks in terms of market capitalization from the Istanbul Stock Exchange and Athens Exchange (15 from each stock exchange), with a cap of 4 banks from each country. At the same time as the launch of the new ETF in Istanbul, another ETF based on the GT-30 index started trading on the Athens Exchange.
NYSE Euronext Lisbon lists ETF covering Iberian region
NYSE Euronext Lisbon listed its first ETF based on the NYSE Euronext Iberian index, called the ESAF ETF. The new product offers both retail and institutional investors an economical, flexible, secured and transparent exposure to the returns of 30 Portuguese and Spanish Blue Chip companies.
Tokyo Stock Exchange introduces new conditional orders
On 24 January 2011, the Tokyo Stock Exchange will introduce new conditional orders (IOC orders) in cash market auction trading for equities, corporate bonds, etc. IOC orders are orders with the condition to immediately execute all or part of the quantity of the order at a specified or better price and the remaining unexecuted quantity of such order will become void.Notice: Undefined variable: indexpage in /home/wfe/public_html/focus/2011-01/footer.php on line 4
